TAGGING ITEMS FOR AN IN-PERSON SALE

ENTERING TAGS:  Log into the consignor homepage and enter the item description, size, price, and whether to discount or donate.  Please enter the brand (i.e. Nike) on the top line and the description of the item you are selling on the second line.  A complete description helps us find your item if your tag should get separated from your item.  Here is a helpful tagging video created by one of our experienced consignors, Melissa.

PRINTING TAGS:
  • Print tags on white or pastel colored card stock (do not use regular copy/printer paper).
  • Make sure that your bar codes are printing clearly (not faded or smudged).
  • Make sure the pop-up blocker is turned off in order for tags to generate.
  • If you change your mind on the price of an item, you MUST reprint your tag because the bar code will be different. Do not hand write a new price on the tag. At the sale, we will honor the price on the tag so please make sure you have attached the proper tag to your item.
  • If printing tags from a Mac computer, you will want to use Safari. Tags printed from Explorer or Firefox will sometimes result in the last two tags on the page getting cut off and printing on a second page.

CUSTOMIZING TAGS (in-person sale):  If you will be picking up your unsold items, you are required to “customize” your tags with a unique stamp on the lower left hand side (where the donation symbol would appear).  This helps us with our sorting process after the sale.   Please make sure that the stamp you use is identical on every tag.  (If your items are marked for donation, then this step is not necessary).  *Please do not use smiley faces, hearts, stars, yellow color, or handwritten marks or initials.

ATTACHING TAGS:
  • Attach tags to clothing by using a safety pin or tagging gun.  Pin tags to the right-hand corner of clothing.  If using a tagging gun, please attach the barb in the tag or the seam under the arm to avoid tearing holes in your clothing items.
  • Tape tags to Ziploc bags, toys, books, etc with clear packing tape.
  • Tags can be pinned, taped, or zip-tied to strollers and other baby gear. Just make sure the tag is easily visible and securely attached.
  • For extra strength, you can “laminate” the top of the tag with clear packing tape before pinning to prevent tag tearing.

MULTI-PIECE TAGGING - If you have a large item with multiple pieces that might get separated.  Only print a tag for the main part.  Put a piece of masking tape on the extra pieces and label them with your consignor number and a number identifying each piece.  (1 of 4, 2 of 4, etc).

The direction your hangers should face and your tag placement.  Pin your tag to the right shoulder, catching the hanger with the pin.  If using a tagging gun, you must place your barb in the seam under the arm.

How to hang an outfit.  Place the shirt on the hanger and pin the skirt, pants or shorts to backside of the shirt.
